CLERMONT – Lamontville Golden Arrows and Kaizer Chiefs played to an entertaining 2 – 2 draw in a DStv Premiership clash on Saturday afternoon at the Cedric Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Clermont just outside Durban.
The draw means that Arrows remain undefeated this season while Chiefs will be happy that they have finally scored from their own player after Leonardo Castro scored a brace.
The game had a cagey start with both teams guilty of losing possession carelessly with the home side edging with possession and missing chances although Castro hit the crossbar with a header.
In the second half, Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande was adjusted to have committed a foul in the box and it was Sibusiso Conco who converted from the spot kick.
Khama Billiat and Leornado Castro combined to hand Chiefs the equalizer in the 58th minute. The duo combined yet again for Castro to complete his brace of goals and with Billiat claiming two assists.
Within 8 minutes of coming on, Nduduzo Sibiya equalized for Golden Arrows to ensure that the two sides have a share of the spoils.
Lamontville Golden Arrows will visit Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit to face TS Galaxy on next week Saturday while Kaizer Chiefs will be involved in a Soweto Derby on Tuesday against Swallows before traveling to Cameron for the CAF Champions League tie.
