THOHOYANDOU – Black Leopards secured their first win of the season courtesy of Rodney Ramagalela’s 56th minute goal.
The win moves Lidoda Duvha away from the bottom of the standings after losing their first three games of the season.
An assist from Lefa Hlongwane made it a happy return to Thohoyandou for RamaG.
Leopards assistant coach Morgan Shivambu expressed his satisfaction to the media.
We did well, starting from the first half. Usually we were conceding goals in the first 10 minutes but we did well in this game,” said Shivambu
“We managed to contain them and we knew they were going to collapse due to the heat. ” Shivambu concluded.
Maritzburg United coach Eric Tinker felt his team didn’t deserve to lose as they dominated the match.
“This was a massively disappointing loss, obviously I feel for the players because I don’t think they deserved it, I thought we dominated and dictated play practically the whole match and just didn’t take the chances we created and one mistake led to a goal but that’s been the story of the season so far. “
Maritzburg United have now lost all the four games they have played in the DStv Premiership this season so far and are rooted at the bottom of the standings.
The team of choice will look to break their duck when they host SuperSport United at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Friday while Black Leopards will visit Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday, the 29th.
