CAPE TOWN – Influential midfielder Thabo Nodada netted a brace to help Cape Town City hammer Bloemfontein Celtic 4 – 2 in a DStv Premiership clash on Sunday evening at the Cape Town Stadium.
It was Mduduzi Mdantsane who opened the scoring for the home side in the 17th minute to set the tone for a thriller that was about to follow.
Fagry Lakay turned from provider to scorer when he converted a penalty to give City the 2 goal lead in the 39th minute but two minutes later, Celtic were given a penalty of their own and it was Ndumiso Mabena who scored to reduce the deficit.
On the stroke of half time, Thabo Nodada got into the thick of things and handed Cape Town City their two goal lead back going into the interval.
Menzi Masuku as one of the three players introduced by John Maduka at the start of second half and he rewarded the coaching staff with a goal in the 69 minute.
But it was Thabo Nodada who was to have the last laugh when he completed his brace and scoring Cape Town City’s fourth to make it a good day in the office for the Citizens
